findbytown for developers
Search companies by place and activity, and reveal their contacts, from your own code or from an MCP client.
The findbytown API gives your code the same company data as the map, with the same rules. There are two ways in, and both use the same API keys, the same quota and the same limits:
- REST API: JSON over HTTPS at
https://findbytown.com/api/v1, described by an OpenAPI 3.1 document. - MCP server: at
https://findbytown.com/api/mcp, so that MCP clients such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Cursor can search and reveal companies for you.
Who can use it
API access depends on your plan. These plans include it today:
| Plan | Reveals a month | Requests a minute, per key | Companies a day, per account | Last page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scale | 10,000 | 60 | 200,000 | 200 |
| Enterprise | 100,000 | 60 | 500,000 | 200 |
How data and quota work
- Searching and reading spend no reveal quota. They spend a daily budget of companies.
- A company's domain, website, emails, phones and contacts appear only after you reveal it.
- A reveal only happens when you explicitly ask for one, and revealing the same company again in the same period is free.
Next
- Make your first call, which takes under five minutes.
- Connect an MCP client.
- Browse every endpoint.
